For every scale in the book, you’re given:

  • One-octave fretboard diagrams
  • Two-octave fretboard diagram
  • Two-octave tab with suggested fingering
  • One octave open position tab for all tonic notes
  • One-octave fretted tab for all tonic notes

A single bass guitar scale can be played in a variety of ways, and it’s up to the bassist to select the version that is the most suitable for a particular song.

To reflect this, each scale in the Bass Scales Tabs Book is presented in a variety of fretboard positions, as well as in a variety of formats (tab, notation and fretboard diagram).

One-octave tabs are provided for each of the scales in the book. You’re given the scale in open position, and in an alternative, fretted position. Tabs for playing a 2-octave version of each scale is also provided.
